Eats for Saturday 8/21

Thanks to the little party we had last night, MB and I both needed a little hangover food today. We are both burger snobs and when the hangover comes calling, there is nothing like a really good burger to answer it. So, off to Red Robin we went. I know, it's not the best choice, but it was our choice and we have to live with it.

I have a lovely salad planned for lunch tomorrow's lunch. Not sure what dinner will be. It will be healthy though.

My day off was a random sort of day. I tried to sleep in but was rudely awakened by MB who had run out of gas and needed rescuing (the nerve!). We spent the day cleaning the house and preparing dinner for some friends who were coming over later.
It was a really fun night, even though I'm kinda hurting this morning. I drank quite a few beers during the course of the evening, as I sometimes do when spending time with friends. I'm 21. Don't judge!

Weigh in

It's been another busy week in the crisis unit and I'm just now getting to around to posting my weigh in for Tuesday.
I have to tell you that I am so tired right now that it took me 7 minutes to figure out that I gained 2 pounds from last week. It's like I've never used a freakin calculator before!

So, yeah. I gained 2 pounds.
I'm frustrated with that but I'm not surprised. While I ate semi-well and exercised two days, I did have a couple really off-track days. I also may or may not have had a blizzard. Okay, I had two.
In my defense, I've been kinda on the verge of a nervous breakdown for the past few days, so I'm cutting myself some slack.
Not too much slack. I'm getting back on track and that's that.
Enough horsing around.

Enough with the negativity. I'd like to take a minute and talk about what I think I'm doing well.

*Water - I drink my servings of water every day and more, especially when I'm at work. I typically use Crystal Light or some sort of 0 calorie water mix in and that really helps.

*Satisfaction - I stop eating when I am full. Once I reach that point where I feel like I'm just stuffing it in, I stop.

*Portions - My scale has become my friend. The kitchen scale, that is. I weigh out all my snacks, meats, etc.

*Honesty - I'm not ashamed of the fact that I'm trying to lose weight. I talk openly about what I'm doing or not doing so well. Some people don't want to hear it, but tough cookies! If I feel like telling that lady in the canned fruit aisle about how many points I have left, dammit I will (that may be an exaggeration, but you get the point)!

*Choices - I am constantly aware of what I'm eating. It affects my choices whenever and wherever I eat. While I don't always make the best choice (blizzards are the devil, btw), I am aware.

So, I may be struggling to get where I want to be, but the changes are there. I'm doing the right things even when I don't realize it.

Goals for this week are the same as always:
Stick to it!

OMG! Can you believe I'm really here posting my food intake?!
You all probably thought I'd forsaken my BLitz.
But, here I am.

I've been really up and down this week. As you can tell by my absence, I've had a little trouble committing to my bloggy upkeep. It may seem like an excuse, but it really is because of the job. I've been so busy at work that by the time I get home, I crash. Sometimes I do chores and whatnot and then crash. Either way, I am drained and can not muster any energy to create a coherent post.

Anyweigh, I'm re-dedicating myself to this whole thing. I miss blogging. I miss the joy it gives me. So, I'm going to make time each day to devote to it. I'm also going to make time to devote to some sort of exercise. That's my goal this week: re-dedication.

The yogurt with cantalope was a little disappointing. I'm going to try it with cantalope and blueberries tomorrow and see how I like it. Or maybe bananas. Mmmm.

I have a really cute award from Previously Plump (Thanks again PPiP!). I will try and get to that in the next couple days. I have to think about who to pass it onto. :)
