Eats for Friday 4/15/11

My day off today was a very active one.

I spent a couple hours cleaning out the fish pond pump, which is the nastiest, most disgusting chore ever. Ever. Don't get a fish pond.

No one should ever have green algae spray into their eyes as they disconnect hoses from an algae filled pump that hasn't been cleaned since September.

Yeah. That happened.

Ewww.

Anyway, after all that grossness, I needed a little relaxation. The pup and I took a nice long walk around the neighborhood. The weather was gorgeous and she was feeling very energetic. We started off with a simple stroll through the park, but ended up walking around half the neighborhood.

So, my fishes are clean and algea free (for now), my pup is all tuckered out and I feel pretty good about my day.

What did you do today?

Eats for Thursday 4/14/11

I had training today for work and was not able to pack a lunch. I also found myself getting up super early to get there. Since I couldn't pack breakfast either, I ate some peanut butter toast before I left and packed an orange to eat there.

The orange was to deter me from eating the donuts and bagels I knew were there. Apparently, they felt that Dunkin Donuts would be the best option for breakfast.

Don't we all work in the health care field, people?

Sheesh.

Anyway, we decided to go to a buffet across the street for lunch. It was quick, inexpensive and close. Thankfully, they had a pretty good salad bar with lots of healthy options. I think I did pretty good, given the other, unhealthier options.

It was also a gorgeous day. By the time we got out of training, I was ready to hit the trails for a nice walk in the sun. I loaded the pup up and off we went.

I'm really feeling good about being back on track. Maybe I'll actually see results this week.

Cross your fingers.

Eats for Wednesday 4/13/11

I copied some recipes from a friend's WW cookbook recently. It was one of the books I don't have.

One of the recipes was for a coleslaw chicken salad with peppery dressing. It's shredded chicken over coleslaw mix with tomatoes, bacon and a dressing made with FF mayo, mustard, vinegar, caraway seeda and crushed peppercorns.

The first taste wasn't too bad. However, when I went to eat it for a whole meal tonight, it was just too overwhelming. The flavors in the dressing just didn't come together quite right for my taste.

Disappointing.

I'll be eating out tomorrow for lunch because I'll be in training all day and can't pack lunch. Not sure what I'll be eating yet. I just hope I can make good choices. I'll be with a group, so peer pressure will be upon me!

Weigh in.

Weigh in day.
Ugh.

You know, I was so excited about today's weigh in after my preliminary weigh in on Saturday. I came in at 191.5 and I was so happy! That was a 4.3 pound loss.

Awesome!

Imagine my shock when I weigh in officially today and I'm at 195.4, which is a .4 pound loss.

Not so awesome.

It's still a loss, but sheesh! What happened to that 4.3 pound loss!?!

I don't think I ate more between Saturday and today. In fact, I stayed right on track and did well with my eats. So, wtf!?!

(sigh)

I refuse to get discouraged. The scale is moving in the right direction and I am getting back on track. I had a good week. Good eats. Movement of my fat ass. Lots of veggies. Lots of water.

If I keep this up, maybe I'll loss another .4 next week!

Sorry. I'm just a little bitter.

It'll pass. Onward and downward. Or something.

I'm going to go grumble for awhile. Don't mind me.

Hope you all had a good week. :)

Eats for Sunday 4/10/11

MB is gone all week and he took my laptop. So, I'm down in his man cave using his computer. It's very isolated down here. I hope no one is upstairs burgling my home of all it's mediocre possessions as I blog. I would never know.

Just remember, BLitz reading burglars and serial killers, I am heavily armed and I will cut you.

Just saying.

So, anyway...what a gorgeous day up here in my neck of the woods. Skye girl and I saw MB off and then hit the trails to get a little exercise. It was so nice. I either walked .68 miles or 2.7 miles.

My pedometer was free and isn't very reliable.

I did walk 1805 steps. Does anyone know how many miles that is?
Google wasn't all that helpful. It tried to redirect me to stuff about Lewis and Clark who apparently did something memorable in 1805.

Thanks Google.

Eats for Saturday 4/9/11

MB is leaving me. For a week.

Come on. If he was really 'leaving me', I'd be way too drunk to be here posting anything. Plus, my face would be stuck inside a carton of ice cream and I wouldn't give a second thought to points or the BLitz or anything.

Seriously.

Thankfully, he's just going away for a week for work stuff.

Before leaving, he took me out for a lunch date. So sweet. :) Of course, I enjoyed the company. The food, however, was definitely lacking. The crab soup was 'meh'. The sandwich had potential...but also 'meh'.

Oh well. Points wasted, but time still well spent.
