Come visit me at Girly Bitz. It's my other interweb hangout.

Weigh in 8/31

Weigh in day again.
I'm down 1 pound from last week. 7.8 total.
Yay!

I am celebrating this loss, but I am still disappointed in myself for not stepping it up more. The little losses are encouraging me but I still feel like I'm in a rut.

I think a lot of it has to do with stress and the weather. When I'm feeling stressed, I tend to get in a funk where I just want to be on the couch in my pajamas. Sometimes that means I binge, which I actually haven't done this time around. That's a small victory.

I've also been lazy because of the weather. I've been itching to hit the trails and hike with the pup but it's just been too hot. Yeah, I could easily work out at home, but...refer to the above mentioned funk.

It's a vicious cycle that I need to break out of. I always feel so much better when I exercise and I know that's what will really give me the results I want.

This should be easy. Just do it. Just move my fat ass.
So, why is is so hard to get into a routine and stick to it?
How do you do it? What's your secret?

  1. Hey Girlie-I've been following your Blog, please don't get discouraged. You are doing great!!! Maybe trying to mix up the types of exercises and the times of day will help keep us from getting in a rut. You go girl!

  2. No, my friend: that is a BIG victory! Even a singular change of pace can be a good one. I hear you both on the funk and on the heat. Unfortunately, my "secret" involves a persnickety window A/C unit and an elliptical (in the middle of my poor living room)...

Congrats on the loss: you're doing GREAT. <3

  5. So here's what you should do:

    1. put on work out clothes (if I'm leaving the house, these tend to be that stretchy material, in black, of course - I'm I'm working out in my house, it tends to be my pajamas)

    2. Watch this to get motivated: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wkt0Q6p33fo&feature=player_embedded

    3. work out. Hike, run, walk, do a video, swim, bike, run stairs (although that is a bitch of a work out), dance with cans of soup in each hand (yes I've done it before) - do whatever gets your heart pumping and you're body sweating.

    4. once your finished, TAKE A PICTURE AND SEND IT TO ME (no, I'm not harrasing you at all!)

    5. Repeat 5 days a week (minus the last step there, you only need to do that once)
